As I progressed over the years into a full-fledged flooring mechanic, I began to learn more and more about the products I was installing. I used this knowledge to begin to help people make decisions when they were purchasing flooring directly through me. People liked the fact that I was honest with them, shared my knowledge with them and gave them a fair price. In 1990 I opened a small flooring showroom and have been working in the retail/commercial sales end of the business ever since. I understand that with today's giant box stores and retail outlets, my main concern needs to be service from the beginning of a project until long after it is complete. Since 1984, I've seen many things in this industry that horrify me. Mostly shoddy workmanship, and sub standard installation practices. I've seen many "installers" over the years and have learned that no matter what you purchase, it needs to be installed correctly. We power stretch all of our carpet over pad installations. The only time we go out to repair "buckles" in carpeting is when the carpet was originally installed by one of the "bargain basement" companies. Most of them guarantee their installations for only one year. If you encounter an installation problem with our products, we'll come out and repair it for you at no charge, no matter how long it's been down. Our installers are courteous and clean up after themselves.
